This year we decided to have our own kickoff right here at homebase and move swiftly into build season.
We first spent sometime reading the game manual and familiarizing ourselves with the rules and taking note of the dimension of the field, game elements, and of the robot. Then we outlined strategies, what types of robots we’ll see on the field, and what we wanted for our robot this year, well as our goals for this year. We ordered parts needed for the robot and other necessities as well.

Then we split into groups and started researching and prototyping different parts of our robot like the shooter, intake, and hopper. We started building our chassis and started our programming a lot sooner than past years, so neither of those will be set back later in the build season.
Now, ending week 1 we have complete prototypes of our intake, turret shooter, an extendable hopper, our chassis is mostly done, and programming is coming along great. Staring week 2 we’re going to put most of our energy into CADing and building, we’ll also work on building our own game elements and bumpers.
Overall and good week, there’s lots more work ahead of us and no stopping in sight, but with our hard work and dedication we’ll be ready in no time.
