Resources

Helpful resources provided by #4398 to help others learn more about FIRST and everything that it has to offer.

Youth Protection Policy

On our team, we implement FIRST’s Youth Protection Policy which is as follows:

The purpose of FIRST’s Youth Protection Program is to provide coaches, mentors, event volunteers, employees, program delivery partners, team members, parents, and others working with FIRST programs with information, guidelines, and procedures to create safe environments for FIRST participants.

FIRST’s full Youth Protection Program can be found here: https://www.firstinspires.org/resource-library/youth-protection-policy

Business/Marketing

To contact sponsors, we normally use a compilation of email templates. Our team also makes posts that links our online donation page: Donate!

For recurring sponsors we use:

In both we attach mentor information, link our socials, and include our sponsorship flyer and photos of the team.

For new/potential sponsors we use:

To keep track of sponsors an money we use Excel.

To craft and send our thank you letters we draft, design, and print them through Canva.

Strategy/Scouting

Control/Programming

our team uses paper scouting sheets and then our scouters compile that information. They send it through the app Slack to the field representative. This app has many tabs for the different subgroups and allow the team members to communicate.

We practice the use of our limelight through the website FRC Limelight documentation. We connect the limelight to a computer with this application running and adjust/fiddle form there.

Design/Build/Fabrication

Drive/Pit Team

To kickoff our design process the team starts out with naming what their golas are for the season:

we detail must haves vs some other scoring aspect that we don’t want to focus on

our team them gets to building game elements through field specs and prototyping with old extrusion and 3-D printed T connectors.

Through this finalization and the streamlining of the prototyping we are able to deliver final ideas and specs to our CAD people – we use Onshape for our CAD

to set up a driver’s station use the FRC website: FRC Driver Station to construct and operate our robot on the field.

In the Pits we hang different sponsor banners, saftey posters, and robot information.

To practice driving we use this drive log:
